A surprisingly long and varied history unfolds before you at the Secret Wartime Tunnels, beneath Dover Castle. Dating in parts as far back as the Napoleonic era, they evoke the tension and drama of Operation Dynamo, the rescue of some 340,000 troops from Dunkirk, for which they served as the nerve centre. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the evacuation
