5/21/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations May 20, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted shows of force to deter enemy forces. All actions were declared successful by ground controllers.

Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots released precision-guided munitions to deter enemy activity after friendly forces reported taking enemy fire from several locations. Ground controllers declared the action successful when enemy fire ceased.
