Iraqi Special Operations Forces arrest suspected al-Qaeda terrorists
ANBAR PROVINCE, Iraq (Courtesy of Multi-National Corps-Iraq PAO, November 23, 2009) – The Iraqi Special Operations Forces, with U.S. forces advisors, arrested four alleged al-Qaeda cell members Nov. 11.
The arrests were based on warrants issued by the Republic of Iraq Higher Judicial Council Magistrate Court.
The suspected terrorists are alleged to have murdered and extorted Iraqis in al Anbar province. They are also suspected of multiple attempts at disrupting the stability of the Iraqi Government before the upcoming elections.
The arrests were made without incident.
