THE world last night gave Iran just a WEEK to come clean about its nuclear weapons - or face harsh new sanctions.
Gordon Brown, US President Barack Obama and other leaders on the United Nations security council issued an ultimatum to Iran to act by next Thursday. If it fails to respond, the UN will impose embargoes aimed at crippling the country's economy. Mr Brown said in New York: "This is the moment of truth for Iran."
The rogue state has been secretly designing nukes for years and world leaders have no doubt its leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, would use them in the Middle East.
It has refused to let UN inspectors into its underground facilities.
