A young British officer, Lieutenant James Adamson, who won two gallantry awards while serving in Afghanistan has told how he fended off an enemy attack by bayoneting a Taliban fighter to death.

Quite the story. Young man has some rather large gonads. Good skills.
Nice to see that the bayonet is still appreciated.

Last major bayounet charge was by Brits in Iraq. As memory(ha what a joke it is) serves me

The bayonet is used a lot in the green zone so the "bayonet charge" by a platoon from the then Argyll and Southern Highlanders (now 5 Scots) is probably not the most recent one any more.
I just realised that this Lieutenant is from the same Battalion, they are getting quite a tradition going!
