A TEENAGE British soldier killed in Afghanistan was remembered today for his bravery in saving his comrades' lives by finding "countless" hidden bombs.
Private Gavin Elliott, 19, of The 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment, died after being shot while on a foot patrol in Babaji district in Helmand Province yesterday morning.
His family described him as "a hero and the best son and soldier we could have ever wished for", and said his death left a void that would never be filled.
