Four Meritorious Unit awards given

Four Air Combat Command organizations were honored in August with the Air Force’s Meritorious Unit award.
Taking the awards were:
* 3rd Combat Communications Group, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., recognized for deployments to Iraq and U.S. Southern Command missions.
* 49th Fighter Wing, Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., credited for standing up F-22 Raptor operations while at the same time starting to fly remote-controlled aircraft.
* 388th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, saluted for deploying F-16s to combat assignments for 20 of 24 months and flying 6,650 combat sorties.
* 432nd Wing, Creech Air Force Base, Nev., singled out for surging MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper operations from 11 round-the-clock patrols to 34 patrols over a two-year period.
Airmen who served with the units during the months cited in the awards qualify to wear the Meritorious Unit Award ribbon.
