Robert S. McNamara Dead

Robert S. McNamara (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/m/robert_s_mcnamara/index.html?inline=nyt-per), the forceful and cerebral defense secretary who helped lead the nation into the maelstrom of Vietnam (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/vietnam/index.html?inline=nyt-geo) and spent the rest of his life wrestling with the war’s moral consequences, died Monday at his home in Washington. He was 93.
