Were these from Russia against Ukraine? That seems awfully indiscriminate. No real targeting.

gutro - They were fired by rebels. It was one of several attacks that day. Grads and their ilk are classic terror weapons when used in urban conflict. You can 'aim' them to within a city block or so, but the rest is utterly random. On the battlefield they're used to soften targets up ahead of an assault.

Pro-Russian Ukrainian Separitist firing indiscrimately into the civilian population of there own country because they really really want to be part of Russia. The twisted religious extremist terrorist I at least understand to some degree their motivation but to really really want to be part of Russia? I must be missing something.

Your right its unfathomable. I guess if its any consolation to anybody a very large majority of the separatist fighters are not Ukrainian separatist but Russian separatist. 90% of the fighting force for the pro Russia side was discharged from the Russian military a week before they start fighting. They come over the border with there armor and anywhere there is Russian armor there are SAM's to protect them. And that explains the MH17 777 that came down because of the BUK2 missile system then disappeared back over the border to the mother land.
