Looking at the pic a special tool is required to screw them in, but also they may be counter balanced in some way. look at the difference between the two

It's two different screw in choke tubes. I have a smooth bore over under, so I do not get the luxury of choosing my chokes for bird hunting. However, I do choose what I fire out of eat tube. For pheasant hunting a 6 shot, or maybe 7 depending on where I am going and the birds I will be shooting at, on the top for the closer ranges, then a 2 or 4 shot for the longer ranges. If I could put different chokes in it would be the same story just different shot. Reason being, close range that 6 or 7 shot may pepper the bird a bit, but it wouldn't shatter it like a 2 shot would. Then as the bird gets out a ways you fire the two shot for the range of it.
