Mob of teens attack disabled Army vet in downtown Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH - There's evidence of more violent teens running around the heart of downtown Cleveland.
A disabled Army vet spoke out about the latest attack that happened Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.

Matthew Robinson told our Ed Gallek he was riding RTA's Healthline (http://www.rtahealthline.com/healthline-what-is.asp) when six to eight teenagers surrounded him on the bus, and then started following him.
Then, he said they attacked, took his stuff, and videotaped what they were doing.
The incident went down at 6th and Euclid, and the crowd scattered when cops showed up.
Robinson told 19 Action News, "What they were saying was, 'Knock that boy out!' 'White boy.' 'Cracker.' They were saying, 'Knock that white boy out.'"
The victim said not only did the group taunt him with racial slurs, they also videotaped the incident.
Cleveland Police (http://www.city.cleveland.oh.us/CityofCleveland/Home/Government/CityAgencies/PublicSafety/Division%20of%20Police) hustled and found three of the suspects running from the scene.
They apprehended an 18 and 19-year-old guy, plus a 16 year-old-girl who had the video on her phone.
Violent teens and even mobs have been a problem around Public Square (http://clevelandhistorical.org/items/show/22#.UvrbsvldV8E) recently.
Last month a teen was brutally beaten on the square, and at times the power of a massive police presence was needed to take back the square.
Matthew, a disabled Army vet, wants his story to be a warning to everyone living, or venturing downtown.
"Your mother or sister could be on the bus, and the same thing could happen to them," added Mr. Robinson.

We have a similar problem in Chicago. Groups of black youths walking around at Navy Pier, knocking out tourists. White ones. Calling them racist names while they do it. A white Canadian boxer was targeted once, he beat the ever loving crap out of 3 of them. The victims said he just started swinging for no reason, but video on one of their phones and other uninvolved witnesses footage showed they were full of cowardly, racist shit. I can't find it anywhere online anymore. Chicago news sweeps this stuff under the rug. Hopefully they stopped once CCW tourists walk the boardwalk now. If not, the press will report that a racist white guy shot a poor unarmed black honor roll student who was minding his own business. Failing to mention he was in a group of 15 similar kids who had been playing the knock out game against whites.

I have been to many events in Chicago and haven't had a problem. I have been in many neighborhoods in Chicago and felt safe. All the while, surrounded by people of all races and creeds. Once, an older black guy at an outdoor deli yelled at a group of black kids to "get out of the area with your pussy ass shit! I'll help these people beat your asses!" They yelled back and forth for a minute, then left. I bought his meal and thanked him as everyone clapped for him. He and I talked for a bit and agreed it isn't a race thing for the rest of us, it's a race thing for the punks.
