sorry for the rookie question, when the loader drops the mortar it appears there are 2 items that come out of e tube. One is fast and the other appears just milliseconds later and looks like it is the lower end of the projectile as it appears to have fins. IDK, maybe some flashback hallucinations-please explain

With this type of motar system its a rifled barrel so there for what looks like stabilization fins are only holders for the charge when the mortar is fired the bottom spins off and it delivers the round like a 155 howitzer would spining like it was shot from a rifle same principle if you look at other 120mm mortar rounds the bottom looks way different

Dang serpa6, that was one sweet answer to my somewhat silly question. I now know I wasnt hallucinating but merely seeing the spin-off of the mortar fins- most gracious my moderator!!!!
