P-40's ??
Looked like it to me. Straight leading edge, looked like an air intake underneath up front, but not mid-airplane like a 51. I googled P40 midair and while there are accounts of a midair like in the video, none of them mention the video footage.

Sounds like it happened in australia.

@Ruderaptor @Towedjumper, Ok pause the vid at .03 and look at where the rear of the wing meats the fuselage and how close It Is to where the top of the tail meets the fuselage It's a very short distance. Now pull up a pic of the p40 and the spitfire and the rear of the wing hits the fuselage at mid cockpit,so there is no way the cockpit is that far towards the tail

I think these might be Russian,Look @ the mig3 from ww2 and notice how far the cockpit is towards the tail section and where the rear of the wings meet the fuselage. And the extended long nose....Possible?
Possibly p40's but more like a p39, maybe even german bf109 by looking at the trailing wing edge when plane 2 is in full silhouette.

still looking at p39's but not a bf109 look at the length of the nose section and the width of the wing on the length of the fuselage. way too long

Not a p39 Either, width or length of the wing along the fuselage
