Wow, I wonder If they put mannequins In the tanks to show the effects to the crew? watch the vid from 1:16-1:24 and look what is just to the left of the turret spinning in the air, sure looks like a body.

Can anyone explain why the missile goes "over" the tank? Kinda curious

Strandern the top of the tank has thinner armour than the front or sides..easier to penetrate

Brings back memories as a Bradley gunner of seeing this happen in the first Gulf War. A TOW 2A will fuck your day up...

If I remember rightly this is actually a field test for the javelin missile system.
@Strandern / MBT's have weak top armor so the missile flies above the target then explodes firing a shaped or sometimes a tandem shaped charge down through the top armor defeating the tank like in video.

This was a test of the TOW 2B Aero, which is the next generation TOW. At 31 sec. you can see and hear the TOW pass overhead...and at 36 sec you can SEE the TOW just before impact.

After watching this, I will never forget the M80 (t72) in croatia wear the turret was staying up right as the barrel was buried in the ground, almost like this video, except the yugo hull kept on driving an extra 25 meters.
Answer some previous questions, the T72 tops almost always blew off, the ammo and charge bags are stored in a rotating ring at the floor of the turret.
As for the crew, sucks balls.
