The technology shown in that video (modified Sikorsky UH-60) was early testing of what culminated into what we see here, 5 years in the making. Solves all the problems the General was talking about and then some. Search on "Sikorsky X2" and watch as the earlier prototype goes nearly 300mph. Nice vid finack I never had the chance to watch it till tonight It will definetly be a big game changer this is what the 160th exactly needs to preform there operations CSAR SF op's and just plain support to get to the troops in trouble

Yup... Speed, speed, speed is what they need. Until now, almost all heli's suffer from the same physical handicaps. Their design's only allow them to fly so fast before running into their known limitations. The new X2 aircraft will change the future of heli operations for good.

If you get a chance, Sirkorsky has their own Youtube channel that has all the testing that they've done since 2008. I know the video I posted show's some cheesy marketing video of envisioned uses for the armed forces, but if you look at the actual real live footage of the test aircraft in action, they're not far from the mark a bit. First test flight for the S-97 Raider is due next year. But everything that one is made of has already been put through some serious, real life testing. Aside from a different paint job, some side mounted guns and rocket pods, this thing has existed for years already.

Working with Uh-60s every day I can deffinetly see some cool future heli/planes coming out.
