The Russian Space Agency released a statement that the Proton-M booster unexpectedly shut down the engine 17 seconds into flight. It carried 3 Glonass navigation satellites, the Russian equivalent of GPS.
Valued at around $200M.

Looked like the payload was ejected to me. But the ensuing fireball most certainly didn't help matters with the chute, if one actually deployed.

Little bondo and some paint will fix that right up..
I take it they do not auto destruct like we do. Ahh USA I mean. Ours go off by less then a degree and auto boom.
At least they didn't take out a village like the Chinese rocket back in 2010.
