No words are needed.

I've always said it's harder on family members during deployments than it is for the service member. The service member goes about his daily life, as he is trained to, and accepts the situation as it is. There was little worry for myself, because worrying does nothing what happens, happens, you trust your training, skill, and buddies and do your job. The family member wonders, worries, waits, not knowing day to day when there are no phone calls or contact of any sort. The phone calls come from time to time and offer that moment of reprieve knowing their family member is ok, then silence for some time after. The service member doesn't have that anticipation, of not knowing.

Then there's that aspect of knowing, for the family members, and sometimes that is the worst. As the picture illustrates.

The pic says more than any words could ever say.

I agree Brenden, for me it makes no difference, Russian, American, Dutch or German. All families have one thing in common. They all want their loved ones home and safe.
