The program ought to be cancelled. It is the poster child for what is wrong with government procurement.

The cost/plane is twice the original estimate, it is less stealthy than what was originally claimed and the test airframes already have cracks.

Unfortunately for the taxpayer LM learned that if it spreads the manufacturing jobs out across multiple states there is no way to kill it no matter how much of a boondoggle it is.
