Hey i have some questions for ya, right now the only thing i did to my car was replaced the back stock speakers with 300 watt(50 per channel) sony xplods, and when i crank the volume my stereo screen flickers (what does that mean), now i have a 12 inch sub and an amp that throws out 200 watts per channel, am i safe to throw them in? And how do you think my front stock speakers would handel it? There stock speakers on a 97 chevy cavalier.

Digital screen can only flicker from a voltage loss,,Brownout. Why don't you just poke your ears out with an icepick? Don't know for sure, but look into a second battery in parallel??? I ain't no x-pert,,,But I am one heck of a shade tree,,,,,,,,,,,,

DonĀ“t exactly know how thes theings are called in english..
There are some types of huge condensators to flatten out the
negative power peaks which your amp and subwoofer create
on the power supply ... this might solve it.
If not it is time to go for a second battery or reduce your
system down to a more healthy volume level..

Capacitors?

Wicked, I'd ditch the stock speakers in the chevy.....and a cap(Capacitor) would most likely solve your problem.
