We have been helping a friend try to reconstitute some of what he lost when the hard drive
of his computer catastrophically failed and everything on it was lost.
Below is my last email to him. It may help you.

Insurance.
You insure things in case things go wrong.
Computer Insurance:
http://www.carbonite.com
http://www.mozy.com
For around $60.00 a year Carbonite backs up my everything. I think Mozy is similar.
When my computer crashed and my fiddling, including deleting bunches of files and such couldn't resurrect it, I simply did
what the computer doctor did when he replaced the fried hard-drive, pushed a button and Carbonite reloaded everything.
Get with the program, bub.
Good luck.
