Direct fire is the best, firing your 98lb load straight into the throat of a mujj? There can be no better feeling in the world. Disclaimer: Since I am NG we never saw a gun overseas, we ran convoy escorts, but as a 13B this gives me some joy and some other things. :D
I know this is not old equipment but it looks oldschool and they have to use 6 or 7 crew to operate... why dont they use mobile arty like phz2000.(I know the US isn't fond of using foreign equipment but it just seems more practical).

Terrain conditions limit the use of mobile artillery. A M777 can be airlifted in, put on top of a mountain and be ready to go. Instead of having to completel reshape a mountain just to build a road to the top.

Plus the muj aren't worth the extra cost to the tax payer.
You do have to wonder if there are enough of those 72 virgins to go around for all of them though...
