It's an AU lead effort (with the support of the UN of course), with Kenya and Uganda being the principal outside helpers. There may be some other 'advisers' as well, but without the AU mission; that started back in 2007 by the way. Much of this wouldn't be possible, regardless of having "blacked up faces helping" or not.

Good example of the training provided by the Brits in action there, fire and maneuver, air support, no panic, clear radio calls. Those lads do ok and I would be ok with them backing up or leading from the front in a fight.
