Well if he is starting to bring out his top of the line tanks that means to me IMO he is running out of options

Tanks in cities should be sitting ducks for RPGs and IEDs.

T-72's aren't toys... They're just rolling death machines for the crew inside them.... especially with the way FSA fights. One of the videos showed them running up 5 feet behind the tank, and RPG'ing the shit out of it.. I don't even know what to think of that.. Untrained monkeys - or the smartest mother fuckers on the battlefield?

I seem to recall Saddam Hussein and Ghadaffi implementing the same tactics, if I'm not mistaken both ended up dead...

He has to bring out the spendy halfway decent stuff, he doesn't have a choice. The rest of his old crap has been blown up, captured, or broke down by now. See how these militias with little to no training fair using these slightly more advanced tanks.

T-72's won't make a helluva difference if you don't change the tactics that you use them with. Ask Russia after their first foray into Grozny with basically the same hardware how they did? I'm not giving any of the remaining regime generals the benefit of the doubt, the smart ones have probably already fled Syria or defected over to the other side. I wait in great anticipation FSA videos of exploding T-72's :)
