Right. Because a car just turns on and runs over somebody. A blender just activates and chops up my Grandma's hand when she's putting tomatoes in there. the lawnmower just "goes off" and chops off my toes.

Guns are inanimate objects. they don't just choose to "go off" conveniently near somebody's jaw. Throw the cop in jail for abusing his power.
