The back blast on those are just as dangerous and VERY loud. I guessing when he pulled the trigger he stood up slightly and his shoulder tiltled the the gun and the shell clipped the wall or building and exploded a backlash.

Doesn't look like he was blown up. The back blast certainly gave that impression. But if you look closely at 35 secs you can see he is still standing after the shot. Later they take return fire and he goes down. So actually he gets nailed by enemy fire.

I've looked at this several times because something is wrong. I've seen an ANA victim of a premature. He was stoned on opium -- boy they love it -- and walked out in the middle of a serious contact to let loose his RPG. We think it detonated in the barrel. Or maybe took a lucky incoming. Don't know, but it blew up in front of him according to the chaps that saw it.

Whatever happened, he was a right mess. They used shovels, not a stretcher.

The guy they carried in was not the victim of a blast. I go with lax and killer. Shaken to shit by the recoil/blast and then nailed by accurate fire from people observing the shot (again I bet they'd been firing from there for a time, they just don't know about mobility).

The doc gets my vote for the 'optimistic of the day' when he pops the stethoscope onto the guy's chest.....

I'm not totally convinced it WAS his weapon that exploded! IMHO he took an incoming mortar or similar ordnance. If it had been the launch tube, it wouldn't still be there after the smoke had cleared and the nasty smell had gone away. I've tried the ol' pause/play routine but it's hard to make out the direction of the blast.

At one point he keeps pointing at different parts of the body like he couldn't understand why he's not alive I think the random Syrian guy shoving his hands in guys huge chest wound would of been a better choice to take him too - If you look at the gunfire hitting the wall and launcher after the blast means the shooting was coming from behind them and I think that alone when added with the explosion equals they were flanked or just that stupid to setup a firing position right in front of an enemies position and the blast was most likely a rpg from the same position that fired on them after the explosion.
