Got this straight from wikipedia

The Islamic State of Iraq or Dawlat al-'Iraq al-Islamiyya (Arabic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_language) دولة العراق الإسلامية), is an umbrella organization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbrella_organization) of a number of Iraqi insurgent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_insurgent) groups established on October 15, 2006[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-established2006-0) "to protect the Iraqi people from US attacks and defend Islam, by the Khalf al-Mutayibeen[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-mutayibeen-1)". It appears that Khalf al-Mutayibeen refers to the alliance of insurgent groups, and Dawlat al-'Iraq al-Islamiyya to the state it claims to govern[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-established2006-0).
The group is composed of and supported by a variety of insurgency groups, including its predecessor, the Mujahideen Shura Council (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mujahideen_Shura_Council), Al-Qaeda in Iraq (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Qaeda_in_Iraq), Jeish al-Fatiheen (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jeish_al-Fatiheen&action=edit&redlink=1), Jund al-Sahaba (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jund_al-Sahaba&action=edit&redlink=1), Katbiyan Ansar Al-Tawhid wal Sunnah (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Katbiyan_Ansar_Al-Tawhid_wal_Sunnah&action=edit&redlink=1), Jeish al-Taiifa al-Mansoura (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeish_al-Taiifa_al-Mansoura), etc, and other clans whose population is of Sunni faith. It aims to establish a caliphate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliphate) in the Sunni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunni) dominated regions of Iraq (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq).
It claims a presence in the governorates of Baghdad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baghdad_Governorate), Al Anbar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Anbar_Governorate), Diyala (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diyala_Governorate), Kirkuk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At-Ta%27mim_Governorate), Salah ad Din (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salah_ad_Din), Ninawa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninawa), and parts of Babil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babil) and Wasit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasit_Governorate), etc.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-established2006-0)[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-2)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-3)[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq#cite_note-4) It initially claimed Baqubah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baqubah) as its capital.

Looks like they're the enemy, more trouble makers.

We're getting pretty off topic lol my fault. I shot an ak-47 recently. There was excitement in the larger round over shooting an Ar-15 though. I was surprised as the I didn't feel the kick was that bad, but I can see where things get crazy in full auto etc.

I think the reliability aspects are certainly respectable, but there are much better assault weapons in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind owning one though, I can see what you mean there.

oh no doubt about that man, theres assualt rifles now that beat the ak-47 easy but you have to admit the ak-47 has been here for decades now, i beleive it was made in WW2, the main part of the ak was a different gun, the guy took it and redesigned it, made it more accurate, then the ak-47 was born... its still a kick ass weapon today no doubt.

Agreed, survived the test of time.. and is tough enough that it can be stored in the most horrid conditions and picked up by fighters all around cheaply. At the same time the strengths of this rifle have proved to be an omen, considering we have to fight them daily. If they weren't such versatile weapons, insurgencies might have had less to fight with.

I like the AK-47 for different reasons, but mainly for his history. It is the most copied gun in the world, most spread gun in the world and so on...

I never have shot a AK-47 yet as it is still under way from Cambodja, yes Cambodja, as in belgium ya not allowed to own guns at all, let stand buy one to colect. I need to go abroad to find the guns I want for my collection and smuggle them in to belgium.

By the way, In my opinion the M-16 is prolly one of the best in the world and I would give up a kidney just to get my hands on one.

If someone can help me out with a M-16, preffered a real working one, please pm.

Ps: to moderaters, if this is out of line please feel free to delete my post! I understand!
