I can feel my blood boiling at that comment. I mean after all I VOLUNTEERED to serve put my life on the line, lost good friends, to come home to my opinion being questioned simply because I have served........ My opinion is no more valuable than anyone elses in regards to the politics today, but it should in no way be censored because I have served I have certainly earned my right to say what I want, as has any other veteran and any other American citizen.

I cant wait to read how obama snuffed one of those gooks in the compound as they searched for bin laden and then he was tasked with charging the top secret helo with c-4 and blasted it to shitdom to protect the secrets. He then saved multiple SEALs that were injured leaving the compound while overcoming a badly injured leg limping on his only good leg, his right leg, because his strongest leg was badly wounded from kicking in the door to bin ladens bedroom where he fired the fatal shot. The other SEALs where just there to follow obama and learn from the true alpha of all men.

Oh wait this will be in obamas next book dreams of my fairy godmother.

Aargh!! i'm more angry at myself for putting that in the Excerpt i posted,
i didn't want this post to be about politics, just the book. (and others like it)

in the full article it tells you that former Spec ops guys have to sign "non-disclosure" agreements so they can't talk about classified stuff...
and it also details other people who got in trouble with the gov for disclosing stuff. (probably political)

ever read the "no right to arbitration" in 70% of the "terms of use" you agree to?

I cerainly agree about the book. OPSEC is OPSEC, and miliary members are the first to break it for obvious reasons, but OPSEC still needs to be maintained by all on all sides. This is something that is not a new issue to US forces, it's been around since this nations existance, and even futher back into the history of simply warfare.


PS, don't mention anything about corporations. By most peoples views they are people, and as being such they should also get the right to vote. Seeing as how they can represent thousands of people, they should be able to vote for the entirety of the corporation. I mean it only makes sense to give a head of CEO's the amount of thousands of people, seeing as how they are people. Sorry had to throw that in there. I'll quit.

Pentagon checking SEAL raid book for secrets

WASHINGTON — U.S. officials said Monday that they are reviewing a copy of a soon-to-be-published account of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, checking for leaks of classified information.

Pentagon spokesman George Little said Defense Department officials “received the manuscript and we are looking at it.”

CIA spokesman Preston Golson would only say that “the CIA has a copy of the book.”

The book, “No Easy Day,” is scheduled for publication on Sept. 11.

The author, a former Navy SEAL who participated in the raid, did not submit the book for pre-publication review that is required by the military secrecy agreements officials say he signed.

Pentagon regulations stipulate that retired personnel, former employees and non-active duty members of the Reserves “shall use the DoD security review process to ensure that information they submit for public release does not compromise national security.”

Pentagon officials say that if they determine the manuscript reveals classified information about the raid, the Pentagon would “defer to the Department of Justice.”

If there is classified information in the book, the former SEAL could face criminal charges.

The publisher says the author intends to give the “majority” of the proceeds to charity, but the Justice Department could still sue to collect any future book proceeds as well.

A special operations advocacy group, Special Operations-OPSEC, which is criticizing President Barack Obama over alleged leaks and making the raid the national security centerpiece of his re-election campaign, asked the attorney general to block the book’s release until the government can make sure it reveals no classified information.

In a letter released to The Associated Press, the group asked the Justice Department “to immediately seek...an injunction in federal court to prevent this book from being published and distributed” until it can be reviewed.

Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd says the department is reviewing the letter.

Dutton announced the book’s pending release last week, saying that “No Easy Day” will “set the record straight” on the bin Laden operation. The author is listed under the pseudonym of Mark Owen, and the publisher had asked news organizations to withhold his identity. He has since been identified as Matt Bissonnette, who retired from the Navy last summer.

After the initial burst of publicity, the book shot up to the top of the Amazon.com chart, reaching No. 1 as of late Friday morning and remaining there Monday, displacing the million-selling erotic trilogy “Fifty Shades of Gray.”
