As a 68W I can't help but feel frustrated and helpless when I see this, meanwhile I'm still here idle in our country, if it weren't for my Wife and our baby on the way, I would have asked the 1SG for a jump on the next chalk...

My last deployment having been with a Blackhawk MEDEVAC unit, I can tell you this. We have the utmost respect for the guys in the dirt doing the fighting! But some days, it was awful hard to get back into that helicopter knowing the dangerous situations you were going into. Luckily, the Blackhawk inspires confidence in that it can take a shitload of damage and still fly. These medics and crew members are sitting ducks and a HUGE target for the ragheads. We had a $1,000,000 bounty placed on our aircraft by the Taliban and they got three of them. 7 KIA and 5 WIA. Others have had it much worse with more losses and WIA's, but man, I gotta tell ya. The set of balls required, or ovaries, it takes to do the MEDEVAC mission is extreme. But we were driven and motivated by the knowledge that our boys needed us! Our motto is, "The louder you scream, the faster we come." It's a play on words, but there was more than one occasion where the aircraft health was put at risk, limits exceeded and engines needing replaced, to get guys to the 21st CSH in time. Especially during Fallujah. Well, enough about that. Good video and thanks for posting.

@HooterBro: I did some MEDEVAC training one time with a Dustoff unit, and I've never seen men so committed to their job. Honestly. They'll fly through sandstorms or whatever to get to a wounded friendly. They told us they'd risk a court martial for gross disobediance of a direct order to not fly if it meant possibly saving another man's life. That's committment.

I love U guys so much. My heart and prayers go out to the troops
fighting in afganistan. Each day I get my six year old up, take him to school and I am thankfull for the liberty I have in the United States. You guys make a difference in freedom and liberty for all americans even the whole world. The United States Army and Marines will not be shaken by terrisom.
