yea but to me it feels good to know atleast some movie makers are still patriotic. way too many movies in america walk right past and sometimes over our pride. this couldnt be a better timed movie with mitt and ryan pullin a big campaign towards american pride and people actually seeing that obama isnt actually working towards our greater good. idk to me america needs a movie like this, even if its cheesy it is still based of off american pride.

All the current craze for rebooting old movies have been mostly failures (at least in my opinion) .. Judge Dredd, Total Recall and so on. I watched Red Dawn so many times as a kid, I really hope they don't mess this one up but hollywood is hollywood ..

The original was plausible in the early 80s. At that time the USSR and its lackeys were running amok in Afghanistan, Africa and Central America. If the Chinese did this in current days they would be slitting their own throats. They have our bonds and need us to buy their junk, and they need our food. Without us they are economically swirling the drain.

In 2012, it would be close to impossible for China or Russia to mobilize their armies and transport them to mainland USA. We would blow them out of the water and the sky before they reached international water/airspace. I'm sorry, it's a movie and I'm ruining it for everyone. My bad.

I have to agree with most of you. I also grew up watching the original, many of times, but hopefully they will get this one right. I will give it a shot with the hopes of it just being a modernized version, hopefully still having heart like the original. Nobody will ever invade this country, to many country boys and farm boys and gun enthusiast. Plus, this country has a rich history of the people of this great country pulling together in the time of need.

This version of Red Dawn doesn't even come close to the first version. Took a great original story line and completely fucked it all up. This version is complete waste of time and money.
