TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas authorities say a Texarkana man has surrendered to authorities in connection with the theft of World War II artifacts from the estate of a veteran who was a member of the company that inspired the "Band of Brothers" book and miniseries.

The Texarkana Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/HustAQ) that 39-year-old John Kelly was accompanied by his attorney, John Pickett, when he turned himself in on Tuesday at the Miller County Sheriff's Office. He's free on a $5,000 bond.

Pickett said Wednesday he's confident Kelly will be vindicated.

The items were stolen from the estate of Denver "Bull" Randleman, who served in the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division.

It's alleged in a search warrant that 39 items belonging to Randlemen were found when Kelly's home was searched.

Not cool. Atleast the guy turned himself in, can't say that about most crooks. I also have a lot of respect for people that turn themselves in when they fuck up, it's always easy to turn a blind eye to anything you've done but to man up to what you've done is a halfway respectable gesture. None the less hope he gets some good time out of the buglary charge.
