I'll be picking up 4 boxes, 100 lbs., of wine labels in Napa and delivering it to Cutler, California around noon time. Get to see if the MPG changes with a new air filter and oil change ;)

Since I had the rest of the day to get home, I detoured and headed east to visit a tree.

Look closely. Once, this tree was much bigger!

At the base of the tree, this opening is around ten feet across.

And it is not uncommon to see Redwoods with fire scars.

But this was catastrophic. Maybe lightening blasted the top off the tree.

Couldn't even get to the gate.

Snow had frozen to ice. Didn't even wet the tires.
You would have loved the movie..... I grabbed the camera, in my right hand and stepped out, and CRASH! fell on my right side and elbow. Oh. Ice.
Getting up would have been an interesting show.
Then, when I took the photo, I heard the truck slipping back until it hit a dry spot a couple feet behind the rear wheel.

An absolute dive. I've seen barns with more style and personality. The bathroom wasn't even clean.

Why not get your motorcycle here and ride from Reno to Vegas, via the Gold Rush country, and see all the parks. Check Google Maps.
You would miss The Coastal Redwoods, a totally different experience, but that is an excuse for another vacation. And a ride from Eureka to Big Sur on Hwy 1 ;)

I have an aunt that lives in Fernly NV . I do need to go see. If I go see her I want to sneak over to death valley than to the grand canyon.
