KABUL, Afghanistan (Oct. 29, 2011) — A combined Afghan and coalition security force captured two Haqqani network leaders during an operation in Sarobi district, Paktika province, Friday.
One leader provided insurgent fighters with funding, weapons, supplies and safe havens, and the other leader coordinated attacks against Afghan forces.
The security force detained two additional suspected insurgents during the operation.

The caches consisted of one 85 mm rocket, one 82 mm recoilless rifle round, one anti-personnel mine, 120 40 mm grenade rounds, 101 grenades, 49 grenade fuses, 11 rockets, eight rocket-propelled grenades, and 140 rounds of small arms ammunition. The munitions are scheduled to be destroyed at a later date.
In Pul-e ‘Alam district, Logar province, a combined Afghan and coalition security force detained two suspected insurgents during a search for a Haqqani network leader. The leader directs attacks against Afghan forces.

The leader is responsible for multiple attacks throughout the Logar province. During the operation, the security force confiscated multiple rocket-propelled grenades.
