KABUL, Afghanistan (Oct. 15, 2011) — A combined Afghan and coalition security force killed three insurgents and detained two suspected insurgents during an operation in search of a Haqqani network leader In Gomal district, Paktika province, Friday.
The leader is responsible for roadside bomb and ambush attacks in the Paktika province.
The security force observed multiple armed insurgents, assessing an immediate threat the force engaged, killing the insurgents.
Multiple weapons were seized during the operation.
