KABUL, Afghanistan – Kabul City Police Intelligence Department reported a discovery of various 9883weapons and ammunition caches found in Shakar Darah District, Kabul province, Feb. 20.

The caches consisted of seven mortar shells, two 82 mm artillery shells, a 75 mm artillery shell and five hand grenades, 15 mortar warheads, two anti-personnel mines and loose ammunition.

South

In Musa Qalah and Nahr-e- Saraj districts, Helmand province, two separate ISAF patrols received small-arms fire from an unknown number of insurgents. After gaining positive identification, coalition forces used small-arms fire and close air support to suppress the enemy. Initial reports indicate there were no civilian casualties during the operations.

In Deh Rawud District, Uruzgan province, an Afghan national security forces and ISAF patrol found two 70 mm projectiles, 12 82 mm rounds and one battery pack.

In Kandahar district, Kandahar province, a combined patrol found four land mines.

East

In Tagab District, Kapisa province, an ANSF and ISAF patrol discovered a weapons cache consisting of 209 rounds of rifle ammunition, 250 grams of explosives, two grenades, one pistol, two rocket propelled grenades, five 82 mm shells, electrical wire, two batteries and various loose ammunition.

All recovered weapons have been or will be destroyed by security forces.
