KABUL, Afghanistan (Feb. 3, 2011) — Six Afghan civilians, including two children, were killed when their rickshaw struck a roadside bomb in Kunduz province, Kunduz district today.
The Afghan Uniformed Police and coalition forces responded to the scene, secured the area and an explosive ordnance disposal unit is investigating the blast site.

A patrol base in Marjah district, Helmand province was engaged with rocket-propelled grenade and small-arms fire. After positively identifying the insurgent firing position, Afghan and coalition forces returned fire, dispersing the insurgents.
A combined Afghan and ISAF patrol found a weapons cache in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province consisting of 2,350 AK-47 rounds.
East
An ISAF outpost in the Nari district, Kunar province, reported receiving indirect fire from an unknown number of insurgents. After gaining positive identification, coalition aircraft responded by dropping ordnance on the insurgent firing position.
An ISAF patrol operating in Sayyidabad district, Wardak province found a weapons cache consisting of 150 .50 cal rounds, 30 30 mm rounds, seven 82 mm rounds, two directional fragmentation charges and two RPGs today.
The weapons caches have been or will be destroyed.
