HELL NO.
On land, that thing is a rolling deathtrap. One IED hit/EFP hit and GOODBYE Marines. No V-hull, no angled armor on the sides equal lots of IED fatalities. But if the intent is only for beach assault operations, then it's obviously perfect. I just hope they don't use it in urban patrol ops. The AAV's got HAMMERED by IED's in Al Anbar province, Iraq when they were used in cities and urban areas.
It didn't say what the specific plans were for it in the video.Those are some damn good points though Mick.

From what I've read it's too expensive, too dangerous (can flood), and is underarmed for it's role.
IEDs won't be a major concern if we do an amphibious invasion initially.
